BCSM has a PA Board, rather than a PTA Board as teachers are not part of the association. Our goals, however, are derived from those of the national PTA in that the overall purpose is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
Additionally, we promote the welfare of our children and youth at home, in school and in the community by bringing each of these three components into closer relation so that parents (and teachers) may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth in order to develop united efforts between educators and the general public that will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in education.
We are the behind-the-scenes supporters and advocates for our children and are committed and dedicated to their educational well-being and development. We stand on the premise that it takes a village to raise our children and understand that it is not just up to the parents nor just the teachers. It is a joint effort!
