Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are excited to introduce you to the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics (BCSM) family.  It is a great honor for me to be writing to you as the Founder and Principal of the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics.  I am confident that together we will build a superior educational institution for our children. Our school has received the following distinctions, a “Well-Developed” score on the Quality Review, a 3-year federal Magnet Schools grant, and 88% of our seniors graduating on-time with 99% of them graduating with Regents diplomas.  In 2014, BCSM was recognized in 2 national publications for being the “Best Public High Schools in America” – U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek.

The BCSM Team has designed an educational program to prepare your children to compete at any college or university after their four years at BCSM.  We have hired the best teachers in New York City and have managed to recruit the best middle school students from the Bronx.  I am confident that we will continue to make history in the South Bronx with our iScreenshot (9)ncredible team of professionals, parental support, and the outstanding group of scholars at Bronx Center.  We have been able to secure over $6 Million in college scholarships for our scholars to attend college over the past 6 years.  Our students have attended the following schools:  Dartmouth College, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), NYU, Wellesley, Amherst, Vanderbilt, Babson College, Smith, Middlebury, Fordham University, Syracuse, University, Hamilton College, Colby College, Depauw University, Sophie Davis Biomedical Program, City College of New York, Macaulay Honors at Lehman College and SUNY Albany. We have a proven track record of success.  What we need from you to continue this tradition of excellence is “PARENTAL SUPPORT!”

The mission at BCSM is to offer a holistic approach to educating students by providing them with the emotional, intellectual, and social guidance and support to develop into productive and contributing members of society. Essential features at BCSM include a full uniform dress code environment, a rigorous college preparatory academic curriculum, a comprehensive after-school program, a well-trained and attentive pupil personnel services department, and a college office that will prepare students for college admissions.

The foundation of the BCSM is built upon Seven Core Virtues: Respect, Integrity, Honor, Excellence, Commitment, Perseverance, and Service that we feel will prepare our students for global citizenship.

The future success of BCSM will be dependent upon our ability to create a school culture that focuses faculty, students, parents, and the community on student achievement and academic success as well as personal growth.  Together we will see to it that our children get the academic and social support they need to be the best they can be.

“Responsibility for our children’s education must begin at home.”
